I wish you the best of luck as you move forward in your memoir journey…and your journey with male breast cancer! I am confident that your book will certainly increase awareness of breast cancer in men and get men to have a conversation with their doctors. This is the biggest gap in the area of awareness. We have to start there so that men can get diagnosed sooner for a better chance of survival. I’m here if there is anything (and I mean anything!) I can do to assist! You are in my prayers and I’m cheering you in from Indiana! Pat Buntrock
Good luck! I’m self publishing my recently completed memoir. As I was writing it I thought I would try the trad route but it felt too vulnerable to shlep my life story around. But it sounds like you have a good plan and I wish you the best!
Gosh, I'm going to miss reading your posts here, but I'm glad to hear that you are putting together a book to help spread the word about male breast cancer. It sounds like there is not much (if anything) out there now. I definitely wish you the best of luck in getting published!! I know that once you put your radar on a goal, you are set on accomplishing it.
Thank you @Nicole Goldsmith ! I won’t stay away too long and I will update when I get pieces published and where. Will also post updates n my progress!
I think it's so cool you did Ronit Plank's 10 week class, sounds like it was really helpful! I know the feeling of "saving" some of your best work for submissions and forgoing publishing on Substack. Currently I'm only publishing on Substack but maybe one day I'll get back out there. Good luck to you in your writing journey, thanks for sharing the update, and I'm glad you're dedicating such time and effort into writing, hopefully rewarding returns Kristina.
Thank you, Dr. Mian! Writing is a fun journey and I love leaning new things and improving my craft. Will keep everyone updated on this new stage on the road to publishing!
Best of luck as you take the next steps on your publishing journey! I am at the starting line of writing (and hopefully publishing!) my memoir. Your posts give me inspiration and hope that I can do this too!
Best of luck to you too! I will continue to update my progress and hope to continue to inspire you. We are a rare breed - that need to tell our story, even though it’s hard.
Best to you Kristina! You have a marvelous way with words, and also the scientific credentials to truly make a difference for thousands who face male breast cancer. That combination, plus your own journey through that dark pit, make you a unique resource. Use what has been gifted you!
Thank you, I feel that it has too! I am taking several writing classes this summer to help improve my craft, which will be helpful in the revision process.
No need to pause my subscription! I support you 100% and, as I have said before, I look forward to reading your finished book! Good luck with everything you are doing right now and I look forward to any updates you share with us on such an important topic! As Pat Buntrock said, if you need anything at all, let us know!!!

Thank you, Pat! You and Matt are certainly an inspiration.
Impressive! You can do it!
Best of luck, and thank you for sharing your process and journey so openly here.
Thank you, Fanen! I will continue to share!

I might self-publish in the end too! All good plans can go South, but going to try this for now!

Thank you, Nancy! I can’t stay away from Substack for too long, but it’s nice to be intentional and know what the next step is.
Congrats, Kristina =). Great to know you're close to finishing the book. It took quite a while =).
Yes, it has! And there is still more to do!
=). Good luck with the debut. There's a lot ahead, I know.
Go, Kristina!! Go! Here's to widening the circle and helping even more people.
Thank you, Lisa! I’m trying and enjoying developing my writing chops in this new world of creative nonfiction.
I wish you the best. Writing is truly a process and your writing has improved so much since I read that first piece.
